Remember that your Hopefulness is a Power Center in your brain. We explained that your Hopefulness (power center) is like a cellphone that uses 10 batteries (or power cells). You are most hopeful if all ten batteries (power cells) are full of charge. Your Total Hopefulness Score comes from adding up ten kinds of questions (the ten "batteries" or power cells that power hope.). There are two kinds of Mastery questions, two kinds of Attachment questions, three kinds of Survival questions, and three kinds of Spiritual questions about God or great unseen powers. After looking at your total score, for a cost of ten US dollars you can choose to see your scores for the four kinds of questions (Mastery, Attachment, Survival, and Spiritual powers). You can also see your scores for each of the ten power cells that make up the four kinds of questions.
You may have lower scores on several of the ten minor subscales. Your lower scores may be scattered across the four major sections (mastery through spirituality) and suggest a specific target for improvement (e.g., goal support). However, you might find that all of the scores for a major section are a little low (e.g., all 3 survival hope scores). In this case, focus on improving those areas with the greatest number of below average scores. There is one caveat. You might focus on attachment hope first, even if only one of the two scales is low, then address the other major dimensions, starting with the most deficient. Attachment is the most critical dimension of hope. Warning: Among some adults, a medium score sometimes results from a lower spirituality score. Check to see if your spirituality score is a low-score outlier, pulling down your overall score. Review the section on spiritual hope.

Mastery Hope Score:

/16
Your Mastery Hope score comes from two kinds of questions. Your Goal Progress score shows if you believe you are strong enough to make your plans work and have your dreams come true. Your Goal Support score shows if you have enough help from other people to make your plans work and your dreams to come true.
You might be less inclined to focus on long-term goals (versus living in the moment). You may have clear and strong desires but do not feel confident in making them a reality (Goal Progress). A third interpretation is that you possess great passion but have hardly any support or inspiration (Goal Support). You may want to seek out some value-clarification exercises and/or brainstorm to find a mentor or inspiring role model (nearby, remote, or even a historical figure).

Your Attachment Hope Score comes from two kinds of questions. Your Social Connection Score shows if you you feel that you have enough love and care from family and friends. Your Trust Score shows if you have enough trustworthy friends, family members, or other honest adults around you.
You may often feel alone in the world and wish you had more loving early care. You may question whether you have similar beliefs and values compared to those around you (Connections). You may be quite guarded around others and do not harbor much trust or faith in people (Trust). Start slowly. Find one person you can trust. Share a little of yourself, your likes, dislikes, and values. Wait for the other person to match your level of disclosure. Spend a little more time in a group setting even if you just listen and learn about others, verify your initial assumptions and fine-tune your gut.

Survival Hope Score:

Your Survival Hope Score comes from three kinds of questions. Your Personal Coping Score shows if you think you are good at solving problems. Your Coping Support Score shows if you have family, friends or people to help you solve problems. Your Freedom Score shows if you feel able to find ways to get out of trouble or escape from traps.
/24
You have some resources for maintaining hope when confronting adversity. You rarely feel stuck or trapped (Liberty). You may have a solid, even very strong level of imaginative capacity to look beyond immediate problems. If you rated high in this sub-domain, and nevertheless had an overall medium survival score, perhaps you reported more difficulty with concrete problem solving (or vice versa) (Personal Coping). Alternatively, you might have a great capacity for imagination and problem solving but find it difficult to recruit good help (Coping Support). Prioritize your weak areas. Divide and conquer them.

Your Your Spiritual Protection Score shows if you feel that God or great unseen powers can protect you and want to protect you? (If you say yes, how well can these powers protect you?)
